Worship and Prayer
Sundays
The Pattern of Sunday Worship at
St. Mark's is:
8.00 am Holy Communion - Book of
Common Prayer
This is a half hour service,
using the traditional service of 1662. There are no hymns.
10.00 am Parish Communion
This is our main act of worship
for the whole community. There are always activities for
children. Afterwards there is a cup of tea or coffee. On the
second Sunday of the month there is an all age celebration,
involving the children and young people in the liturgy. All
baptised people are invited to receive communion, including
children. The liturgy follows the pattern of Common Worship but
incorporates worship material from Iona and many other sources.
6.30 pm
Evensong
This is the second main service
of the day.
This service follows
the Book of Common prayer, but may occasionally be a service of
Compline, or an Iona or Taize service (see the noticeboard
outside church for details). There are hymns and a short
sermon at this service.
Weekdays
Morning Prayer is said everyday
(except for Monday) at 8.30am. You can join in with our daily
prayer by clicking here.
There is a
celebration of Holy Communion every Wednesday at 10.00am.
